Index, policy & takedown

What we index

We add a page only when it carries a clear, legal signal that the work is freely reusable:

• An exact machine-readable license link: rel="license", a <meta name="license">, or JSON-LD license pointing to CC0 1.0 or the Public Domain Mark.
• A clear in-page statement such as "CC0 1.0 Universal", "Public Domain", or the Zero-Clause BSD (0BSD) notice.
• No conflicting non-CC0 Creative Commons license (CC-BY, CC-BY-SA, CC-BY-NC, etc.) on the same page.

We store metadata and short snippets only — never a full mirror of the page or its content.

How we respect rights

• We honor robots.txt (User-agent: CC0FinderBot and *).
• We refuse private/local-network hosts, denylisted domains, and URLs.
• We do not index proprietary, all-rights-reserved, or vaguely-licensed content.
• We never copy whole pages, comments, or user content; everything is metadata + a short textual snippet.
• For Reddit/Social/X content we only store a source link and license proof — never a mirror of the thread.

Submit content

If you created (or verified) something under CC0, the Public Domain, or 0BSD, submit it from the homepage. It is reviewed before it appears in the community feed. This is a self-serve, rights-affirming feature — you claim your own work is freely reusable, and it stays that way.

Takedown requests

If you believe a page in the index should not be there, we will remove it. Send a takedown request via POST /api/takedown with { "url": "...", "requester": "...", "reason": "..." }, or contact cc0@boqsc.eu. The item is marked take-down-pending and removed from the public feed.

Licenses supported

• CC0 1.0 Universal — for any creative work, including code.
• Public Domain Mark — for works already in the public domain.
• 0BSD (Zero-Clause BSD) — for code, and code only.
